a tiny peek into a southern louisiana wedding.

my cousin geoff got married this weekend in new orleans. not only did this occasion provide us with a much-needed mini family vacation, but we also had an absolute ball while taking part in all the festivities!

on friday night, we experienced true southern grit as we attended a louisiana-style fais do-do on the top floor of maison on frenchmen.

and then, after a saturday morning of shopping on royal street (& at the shops at canal place), we settled in for an oppulent-yet-festive marriage ceremony at the cabildo. after saying 'i do' in the heart of new orleans, the couple led a second line through the quarter, with us waving our white handcerchiefs in time to the music.

as expected from a festive southern wedding, we had the time of our lives.

and as we prepped for the early start of a monday morning that came far too soon, our aching legs reminded us of a weekend well-spent.

congratulations, geoff & menaka!

How fun! I've only been to Louisiana once (for the UGA vs LSU game) but I LOVED it.. the culture there is so fun and unique!

the back and forth.

Justin had to turn on the air conditioner again last night.  It's October 26 - doesn't that mean the heater can stay on? Doesn't...
